        If you hold the flute same like this it's call MA[KOMAL]- is unic its holding technic little different if you have a close look on picture you can see I hold this holes half-part it's called 1/2 note KOMAL MA At the beginning stage it's to hard to change fingers position so you should practice Ga and Ma respectively 
      
  You can also play maa with open all the fingers then you blow (extra Air) into the Mouth Hole and you get high sound

There is no any basics to make flute with using particular measurements because it has several reason depends like Quality of Bamboo - Thickness of wall - Diameter of Bamboo - Weather Condition etc
